Welcome to Brackenagh West Primary School!
We're pleased that you've logged onto our school website and hope that you find it both user friendly and informative. The site offers you the opportunity to be informed of key events in our diary and to receive further information about your child’s education. It also provides you with another facility to communicate with the school on matters about which you need to inform us. From the school’s point of view it will help us to have another means of communicating with current pupils and parents; and will allow us to keep in touch with former parents, pupils and staff, as well as friends of the school.
Brackenagh West Primary School is situated approximately two miles from Kilkeel, near the area of the Silent Valley. We are a rural school, set in the heart of the Mourne countryside, approximately 3 miles from Kilkeel. Our catchment area takes in the local townlands of Carginagh, Brackenagh, Ballyvea, Ballinran, Leitrim, Ballymartin and Ballykeel. We also have a number of children attending from Kilkeel and Annalong.
We aim to provide a happy, friendly, caring environment, where children feel secure and valued. Children are encouraged to develop self-discipline and mutual respect for each other, and for all adults, in an atmosphere that promotes learning and excellence, enabling children to fulfil their true potential.
Parents and visitors are welcomed into the school. Their involvement and contribution are sought across the school in a partnership that enhances the children's education, welfare and social awareness.
Thanks for logging on – enjoy your visit!
