  • Education Budget

    Wed 17 Dec 2014
The proposed education Budget will have a devastating impact on education in schools right across Northern Ireland. Over 1,200 teachers and 2,000 other education workers will lose their jobs. The budgets of schools will be drastically reduced leading to larger classes and a serious deterioration in the quality of education that schools can deliver.

I know how busy you are at this time of year, but if you could take the time to send an email (it doesn't have to be long) to the email address below, saying you are opposed to the proposed education budget, that would be great.

  • Asda Bag Pack

    Wed 17 Dec 2014

A huge thank you to everyone who helped out with the Bag Pack in Asda on Saturday 13th December. In conjunction with the balloon launch sales, over £1000 was made for school on Saturday, which was an amazing effort!

A special thank you to Mrs Diane Haugh-Graham who has planned and organised the whole initiative from beginning to end, and to the pupils of the Enterprise Club who have been so enthusiastic in their efforts.

The final total raised has risen to £1921.32 which is tremendously valuable to school in these days of deep cuts to the education budget. Congratulations to everyone involved, particularly the people listed below who gave of their time on Saturday.

Helen McConnell,  Sharon Verner, Olive Hanna, Christine McConnell, Charlotte Reilly, Shirley Annett, Harriet Annett, Wilma Annett, Alison Spiers, Amanda Irvine, Lorraine Young, Grace Martin, Yvonne Morris, Pauline Newell, Amanda Herron, Freda Annett, Helga Harris, Lenora Chambers, Lorna Henderson and Ruth Graham.

  • Balloon Launch

    Thu 04 Dec 2014 M Peacock

Mrs Haugh-Graham and the Enterprise Club have been very busy organising a balloon launch to raise money for school funds. This will be held on Monday 15th December, and balloons are currently on sale for £2 each.

Anyone buying a balloon will be allocated a number, which will be fixed to one of the balloons before they’re launched. The idea is to see how far the balloons travel, with the expectation that some may even make it to continental Europe. There are prizes for the three balloons which travel the furthest.

You can buy a balloon through the General Office or from members of the Enterprise Club who will be selling them in Spar and Asda over the coming 10 days. This is something very different than anything we’ve done before, and we wish the pupils every success as they continue their hard work in organising this event.

  • Christmas Gifts

    Wed 03 Dec 2014

We know that parents are very generous and have often bought Christmas gifts for the staff at this time of the year. However, the staff would prefer to raise funds for the local Hospice, rather than receiving Christmas gifts.

There will be a box at each entrance door for any contributions that you may wish to make, and we would encourage you to make a donation to the Hospice rather than buying presents for staff this Christmas.  It is important to note that this is entirely voluntary and completely anonymous.

  • Christmas Concert

    Wed 03 Dec 2014 M Peacock

I want to remind everyone of the arrangements for our Christmas Concert performances. They will both be held in the Assembly Hall on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th December at 10:00am, when all of the classes will be taking part.

As the Wednesday performance is simply a repeat of Tuesday's we ask that you only attend on one of the dates.  This will ensure that there is enough room to accommodate all parents, family & friends who wish to attend.
