  • A £500 Bonus!

    Thu 23 Nov 2017

We were delighted to receive the news that we had got the most votes in a recent 'Green Token' promotion run by the Asda Foundation, through the local Asda store! As a result the school has received £500 from Asda, which will be a most welcome addition to our school funds at this most challenging time for school finances.

The photo shows Stephanie Rogers (Asda Kilkeel Community Champion) presenting the cheque to some of our P2 pupils, when they visited the store last week. We'd like to say a huge 'Thank You' to Louise Fryar for nominating us for the award, and to all those who used their green tokens to vote for us - you helped us over the winning line!

  • Book Fair

    Thu 16 Nov 2017

We enjoyed a very successful Book Fair over the past few days, with many of the children having availed of the chance to get some lovely new books to read!

An added benefit is the fact that the school also benefits from your purchases, and we have been able to get £300 worth of new books for the classrooms absolutely FREE!

Our sincere thanks to everyone who supported the Book Fair - I hope the books are enjoyed and the 'journey' is memorable!

  • Christmas Movie Night

    Tue 14 Nov 2017

The Enterprise Club have organised a Christmas Movie Night, to be held in school on Friday 17th November from 6:30 - 8:45pm.

There will be three different films showing - 'Arthur Christmas' for the P1 to P3 children, 'Home Alone 2' for the P4 to P7 pupils, and 'Beethoven's Christmas Adventure'. The cost is £2.50 per child (and £2 thereafter for any other child in the same family), and tickets are available in school.

Tickets are selling well, and can still be bought from school over the next two days. Although we've provided guidance on the class/age group for each film, this is flexible, and children can watch one of the other films if they prefer.

Sweets, crisps and drinks will be available to buy, and Graham's ice-cream will also be on sale! Parents can also buy an ice-cream when dropping off their children, should they feel the urge!

We held one of these movie nights a few years ago and the children loved it, so hopefully this one will be just as popular!
