Brackenagh Busy Bees Playgroup
We operate a Playgroup at Brackenagh West PS, which caters for pre-school children, from the age of 2 years and 10 months until primary school age.
The Playgroup is organised on a sessional basis. Morning sessions run five days per week (Monday to Friday), and afternoon sessions run three days per week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday).
At this stage our Playgroup is not funded and costs £7.50 per child for each morning session, and £6.00 per child for each afternoon session.
This is a committee run playgroup which meets during school term time. We are registered with the HSC Trust and are inspected annually by their Early Years team.
There are two members of staff in the Playgroup, a Leader (Mrs Heaney) and Assistant Leader (Mrs Beck), who work with the children on a daily basis and correspond with parents. The committee delegates responsibility for the day to day running of the Playgroup to the Playgroup Leader.
The Playgroup operates in ‘The Beehive’ within Brackenagh West PS, which is a room situated between the P1 and P2 classrooms. The group has its own uniform, which is different from the pupils in the primary school.
We aim to provide high quality care and education provision that enhances the development and well-being of pre-school age children in a safe and stimulating environment. We aim to encourage learning through play and work in partnership with the families who use the setting, and with the wider community.
Learning can and should be fun, and at Busy Bees our aim is to mix plenty of creative, imaginative and physical play with more specific skills involved in preparing your child for primary education.
If you are interested in enrolling your child in our Playgroup please complete the application form and return to Brackenagh West PS as soon as possible.
The Playgroup Leader is Mrs Emma Elliottt, and she can be contacted by email or phone.
