Welcome to Brackenagh West Primary School
We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a 'taste' of the school, as well as providing regularly updated information for both parents and pupils.
It also provides you with another facility to communicate with the school on matters about which you need to inform us. From the school’s point of view it will help us to have another means of communicating with current pupils and parents; and will allow us to keep in touch with former parents, pupils and staff, as well as friends of the school.
BWPS is a rural school, set in the heart of the Mourne countryside, approximately 3 miles from Kilkeel - near the area of the Silent Valley. Our catchment area takes in the local townlands of Carginagh, Brackenagh, Ballyvea, Ballinran, Leitrim, Ballymartin and Ballykeel. We also have a number of children attending from Kilkeel and Annalong.
We aim to provide a happy, friendly, caring environment, where children feel secure and valued. Children are encouraged to develop self-discipline and mutual respect for each other, and for all adults, in an atmosphere that promotes learning and excellence, enabling children to fulfil their true potential.
Parents and visitors are welcomed into the school. Their involvement and contribution are sought across the school in a partnership that enhances the children's education, welfare and social awareness.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school directly with any queries you may have.
Thank you for visiting!
