Just a reminder that the school photographer will be coming in next Wednesday and Thursday to take individual and family group photos of the children.
Any pupils with siblings not attending BWPS can have their family groups taken in the morning (before school) from 8:30am onwards.
We would like to say a big thank you to three of our pupils who collected litter from the roads around the school recently.
Brothers Nathan (P1), Philip (P2) and David Hamilton (P4), along with their Mum, spent some time collecting a large bagful of litter from the roads approaching the school. This has really helped to tidy up the vicinity around the school, and we really appreciate what the boys have done. They are pictured below with the fruits of their labour!
The Holiday List and term dates for the 2015-16 school year are now available to view in the parents' section of the website, under 'Useful Information.'

I hereby declare Andrew as the winner and the member elected to serve as MP for Brackenagh West. Well done to everyone involved, and a big thank you to Mrs Harris for all her hard work in organising the election. It has been great fun!
On Tuesday 3rd February the Mourne Schools' Indoor Football Tournament was held in Kilkeel Leisure Centre, with nine local schools being represented. I am delighted to report that the Brackenagh West team performed brilliantly, and ended up as champions, following a very close final.
The boys won all of their four group matches to proceed to the semi-finals as group winners, where they played Annalong PS. This was a keenly fought match, with no quarter given on either side! However, Brackenagh played with great determination, and a goal from Adam McKibbin was enough to see them through to the final.
In the final the boys played against St Mary's PS, Glassdrumman, and they played extremely well. Despite going close on several occasions there were no goals at full-time and the match went to extra-time. Finally the boys' pressure paid off and goals from Adam McKibbin and James Annett saw them win the tournament.
Our congratulations to each member of the team: Nathan Morris, Jonathan Patterson, Andrew Young, James Annett, Adam McKibbin, Bailey Skillen and Jackson Graham. Well done!
We have been reviewing safety and security procedures and there are some important changes that we are now implementing.
